Be still. Do not stir. You musn't worry. Ruckus House on Aux is back.

“Interstate Town” - Sugar Pit

Released June 22, 2024

Hot potato! Hot potato! This one is fresh out the oven and only available for your ears on Soundcloud. Sugar Pit is an artist we’ve been following for over a year now, since his viral moment with the song “Customer Service.” This guy is much more than a TikTok song-gone-viral artist though. Mr. Pit is a talented DIY artist from Illinois, now based in Los Angeles and freshly signed to Atlantic Records. It’s easy to see why a label like Atlantic would want to pick him up. He’s a true talent solely writing, recording, and producing his own music. And he’s clearly connecting with audiences, garnering a steady growth of monthly listeners on Spotify. His most recent demo “Interstate Town” is reminiscent of Nirvana and I think it is most suitable living in its current demo state. Give it a listen on Soundcloud while supplies last!

“don’t rely on other men” - JPEGMAFIA

Released June 17, 2024

If I had to describe this song in one word it would be “hard.” I just don’t think you can listen to Peggy and not feel tough as fuck. The production is belligerent and the lyrics are just as aggressive. The music video is surely subversive (Shirley Subversive is my new drag queen name) and unsettling. As an artist that gets a lot of heat from his fanbase, I can only hope this upcoming album is as honest and heedless as this track is. Great art doesn’t come from pleasing hoards of people, but from saying and doing the things that you as an artist want to say and do. I’ll drink to that.

“Mean girls” - Charli xcx

Released June 7, 2024

Even though Ruckus House on Aux took a brief hiatus, please know we were certainly celebrating BRAT week. I’m not going to lie, some of the songs on this album really sound like they could’ve been written by Girls5eva, leaving little to the imagination. And others, like this one, are just undeniably cunty. No lyric has ever resonated with me like the line “Yeah, she’s in her mid-20s, real intelligent.” I’m not usually one to make the internet my whole personality, but I do agree that IYKYK it’s giving the girls that get it, get it and the girls that don’t, don’t.

“Looking At People” - Julien Chang

Released March 1, 2024

Not even sure how I stumbled upon this gem of a song but it is just absolutely enchanting. The layered guitars and stacked vocals seem Radiohead-inspired and the lyrics are poetic in a way that feels like a worn jacket wrapped around your shoulders. There’s something very hometown about this song, and it doesn’t matter where your hometown is but you know the feeling I’m talking about. It’s familiar, it’s comfortable, and I guess that’s why this EP is titled Home For The Moment. Give it a listen.

“The Dungeon” - Ramirez

Released September 16, 2022

This song is for all the foos out there. This is that West Coast shit, that Cypress Hill looking ass shit, that fuck around and find out shit (she writes as she sits next to her mini goldendoodle with an iced matcha latte in hand), you get it. Anyway, it’s dope as shit and maybe we should consider having a Ramirez summer instead of a Hot Girl Summer or BRAT summer or whatever.
